Player Ratings: Man City lose 5 games in a row after losing 0-4 at home to Spurs in the Premier League

Believe it or not, Manchester City, the defending Premier League champions , have lost their fifth consecutive match in all competitions after being thrashed 4-0 at home by Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League match on Saturday night.

Spurs got their goals from James Maddison who scored two goals alone (minute 3 and minute 20), while the rest were scored by Pedro Porro (minute 66) and Brennan Johnson (minute 90+3).

It comes as a reward for Pep Guardiola’s disappointing new contract and adds to the daunting task of defending the title for the Citizens.

Manchester City Player Ratings

Ederson – 7

To be honest, if it weren’t for Ederson, Man City would have conceded half a dozen goals. Their defense is ready to lose at any moment. This is even with three solid saves.

Kyle Walker – 5

Since recovering from injury, his pace has not been the same. It’s quite shocking. He did well in many situations when dealing with Son, but the second goal should have forced Maddison to not have as many chances to score. The third goal, he didn’t try to sprint down to help the defense as he should have.

John Stones – 4

It was a tough 45 minutes for Stones, who started his first league game since Wolves and appeared to have fitness issues but was forced into the big โปรโมชั่น ufabet game as Pep was reluctant to risk youngster Simpson-Pusey again.

Manuel Akanji – 4

Trusted to be on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, had to cover Guardiola’s side who was constantly being penetrated. The second half was a bit better but still conceded two more goals as usual.

Josko Gvardiol – 3

The first two goals were a complete mistake. As he failed to mark Kulusevski fully, allowing the Swede to easily pass to Maddison for the lead, and he also lost the ball, leading to Maddison’s second goal. The attacking game was good. Often trying to sneak around the penalty area, hoping to redeem himself. But it didn’t work.

Rico Lewis – 4

Pushed into a full-fledged midfield role when Walker was fully fit, Lewis was an example of how experience is important, as he was at a loss in such a high-pressure game, both nervous when on the ball and impulsive, even having off-the-ball moments.

Ilkay Gundogan – 3

It seems that he has forgotten his former self from his time here because since moving back last summer, Gundogan has not been able to bring out his best form. This game, he could not control the midfield and was also slow.

Phil Foden – 5

Looked good at first but slowly disappeared from the game. Had a few chances to shoot, but barely created chances for his teammates. A bit disappointing for a player who was expected to be a key player in the game.

Bernardo Silva – 5

Trying to run into the opposing players to make it easier to play, but it seems like he is doing that job alone in the midfield, facing the pressing game of Spurs that is rushing in. Being diligent alone won’t work either.

Savinho – 4

He was involved in many offensive games and often put himself in scoring positions, but was not decisive in the final moments before being substituted.

Erling Haaland – 4

He had three golden chances to score for his team in the first half, but he let them slip away in a disappointing manner. The same goes for his second half when his shot hit the crossbar and was saved. His post-game statistics show that he had seven shots, but only two were on target. He wasted his chances unnecessarily.

Substitute

Nathan Ake (on for Stones 46′)  –  5

Came in to tighten up the defense but was sacked by Solanke for the third goal.

Kevin De Bruyne (on for Savinho 74′)  –  6

Passing from midfield is much more dangerous, but time is a bit short.

Jack Grealish (on for Lewis 74′)  –  4

It’s all excitement but no poison.
